Celebrate National Book Month
The Jane Addams Peace Association celebrates National Book Month and the freedom for all students to choose their own books. We are proud to share we donated over 300 books to students in El Monte, Calif., and Chicago, Ill., accompanied by inspiring author visits from Aida Salazar and Michelle Duster!

The Jane Addams Peace Association seeks selection committee members with diverse perspectives and identities among parents, teachers, librarians, activists, and child advocates, all with knowledge of children’s literature. The committee is composed of nine to twelve people serving three-year terms. Members read widely throughout the year, communicate via an online platform, and meet virtually monthly.
